Pablo Picasso - born October 25, 1881 in Malaga, died April 8, 1973 in Mougins. Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist and poet, considered one of the most outstanding artists of the 20th century. He and Georges Braque are the founders of the painting trend known as Cubism. In May 2004, Sotheby's auction house sold the painting Boy with a Pipe (1905) for $126.4 million. In May 2010, the painting Nude, Green Leaves and Bust (1932) sold for $112 million (bid price: $106.5 million). In May 2006, Sotheby's auction house sold the painting Dora Maar with Cat (1941) for $107.9 million, and in 2015 the painting Beautiful House sold for $164.4 million. The artist's self-portrait "Yo, Picasso" fetched $47.85 million - one of the lowest prices ever paid for a painting by an artist. So it's not without reason that Pablo Picasso's work is included every year in the lists of artworks with the highest value.
