Masionek David "Illuminating Time"
90x120, oil on canvas, 2019
Born in 1994 in Lubliniec, painter, draughtsman, Master of Arts, graduate of the Jan Długosz University of Humanities and Sciences in Częstochowa with a degree in Painting (2019, studio of Prof. Jarosław Kweclich). His fascination with Gothic architecture is one of the main inspirations for his work. He paints his paintings with a spatula, exploring the same areas repeatedly, covering the canvas with successive layers of paint, in order to later discover newer and newer qualities of color, light, dynamism through multi-step interference with the applied paint. Expressive painting is complemented by drawing activities - he willingly reaches for ink and nib, believing that the painter's eye is educated primarily through the skilled hand of the draughtsman. Author of many group exhibitions (including several editions of the exhibition Painters and Drawers at the Regional Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts - "Conductor House" in Czestochowa) and individual exhibitions.
