30x70, acrylic on canvas, 2023
The artist I is a disabled person with a severe disability. She was a victim in a car accident 22 years ago and lost 95% of her sight shortly afterwards, and now also suffers from a heart aneurysm, tetany or brain cancer. Her paintings have been donated to charity many times. She did not graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts, but her passion for art grew stronger with each passing day. She did an internship at the Art Gallery on Podwale in Wroclaw, but unfortunately, due to total blindness of a few days, she could not continue working.
This is what the artist says about herself and her work: "the only thing that gives me hope and happiness are my 'living paintings'. I call them that because, having 5% vision, I paint them with my heart and soul, and they live their own lives and change the lives of the buyers by 180 degrees - confirmed many times. I want to help others, because good comes back. I will never regain my sight again, but knowing that someone is looking at my artwork compensates me for that."
