From the author:
The quadriptych presented here is inspired by the symbolism of cards. Kier and Karo, respectively symbolizing love/sensuality and fidelity and secrecy, are assigned to the figures of the Lady and the King (Lady Kier and King of Diamonds). On the other hand, next to the Trebles (duplicity, betrayal) we have the Jack - a reference to the colloquial expression "for a jack", as well as to the Roman god Janus, a two-faced deity. The Ace, on the other hand, is the Ace of Spades - which, in addition to card symbolism, where Spades is a sign of struggle and strength, is also a symbol in another context - in the LGBT community, the Ace of Spades is a symbol of asexual aromantic people, an orientation with which I identify myself. Together, then, the works form a deck - a combination of opposites, a unity that is born out of chaos - the universal message of the mandala.
